Making NGVs easier to buy


The Partnership is poised to launch an aggressive outreach program for local, state and federal purchasing programs. Our efforts in this arena will serve to encourage the purchase of dedicated NGVs. In achieving outreach goals, the

Partnership is working to:

  • Modify state fleet purchasing programs to encourage the purchase of dedicated NGVs over other alternative fuels and “clean” diesel.

  • Modify EPAct to require the purchase of dedicated NGVs over flex fuel vehicles.

  • Develop a California State Fleet Infrastructure Plan.

  • Implement a public education program to encourage the purchase of dedicated NGVs.

  • Partner with automotive dealer associations to promote the sales of NGVs.


 


With the rising cost of petroleum-based gasoline and diesel fuel, tougher emission standards and the growing public demand for better environmental policies, natural gas vehicles provide an attractive alternative with
a multitude of key advantages.
