Through our Rewards Program, you could also receive up to $30 extra per month depending on how many days per week you commute to your station using your new e-bike. WHAT is My-Go Pasadena?

My-Go-Pasadena is a program that provides rebates to transit commuters to purchase a two-wheel electric vehicle from one of several participating dealers in the Pasadena area. The goal of the program is to demonstrate the value of these electric vehicles as new transportation options to connect to Metro Gold Line transit stations in lieu of the single occupancy automobile. The program has been generously funded by the Los Angeles M.T.A., the City of Pasadena, Pasadena Water and Power, and the Federal Transit Administration. MyGo-Pasadena is a project of WestStart-CALSTART, a non-profit advanced transportation organization based in Pasadena.

WHO are the MyGo-getters?

MyGo-Pasadena seeks Gold Line transit commuters who would be interested in driving a two-wheel electric vehicle rather than their full-size car to one of the following Gold Line stations: Sierra Madre Villa, Memorial Park, and Del Mar.

WHY should you become a MyGo-getter?

Owning and operating a car is an expensive proposition. Taxes, depreciation, finance charges, registration, insurance and license fees are ownership costs and are incurred regardless of how often you drive your vehicle. Operating costs including gas, oil, maintenance and tires are incurred for each mile you drive. And then there’s the cost of parking! According to AAA, the average owning/operating costs of a car in 2006 have been calculated at approximately 52 cents per mile. Compare that to the cost of owning and operating an electric bike at approximately 5 cents per mile. Car commuters driving 15 miles round trip per day who make the switch to an electric bike could save as much as $150 per month!

America’s auto-dependence poses a significant barrier to an increase in transit usage and contributes to city traffic congestion, poor air quality and increased global warming. If you could purchase a reliable electric vehicle at a discounted price that improves our natural environment, that saves you money, that is a healthy alternative and an enjoyable ride all at once, would you ditch your car and be a star?
